The Knighton
Hotel, in the heart of the town, is a 16th Century weather boarded Coaching
Inn with an adjoining stone built Manor House dating from about 1840. Accommodation
comprises 15 en-suite bedrooms with extensive work having been undertaken to
expose and restore many of the original features of the property including the
16th Century beams in the Norton Hall and the magnificent galleried staircase
leading from the foyer to the bedrooms and assembly suites.
Guests and visitors to the hotel can wine and dine in the tranquility and
ambiance of the King Offa's Restaurant with its traditional cuisine and fine
wines or try the popular Cellar Steak Bar. The Lounge and Public Bars provide
a good selection of traditional beers, wines and spirits together with a varied
and impressive choice of bar snacks.
The hotel assembly suite is situated on the first floor of the Coaching Inn
and was for many years the town's assembly rooms. The suite now comprises the
Norton Hall, Shropshire, Hereford and Powys rooms which can be used collectively
or as self-contained units for individual functions. The suite as a whole can
cater for up to 400 people. The main Norton Hall caters for 160 persons seated
or 250 buffet style with the Shropshire and Powys rooms each catering for 50
